Terrington Hall School

A Boarding Week at Terrington

Terrington Hall caters for full boarders, weekly boarders and an ever increasing number of occasional boarders.

Run by the Headmaster, his wife and two resident Matrons, our boarding house provides a friendly and supportive community for children aged seven years and over.

The experience fosters self-reliance and independence in an informal and comfortable environment where, with the observation of a few basic, but important House Rules, an atmosphere of mutual respect and self-discipline means sympathetic attention can be given to the individual needs of all pupils

Bedrooms are small and the children are encouraged to bring their own posters, pictures, toys and duvet covers so that their rooms can be made as homely as possible.  Once the school day is over, evenings can be free for clubs and activities to take place, for which many day pupils remain at school. Children have access to the television on most evenings, but the variety and breadth of activities available mean that few exercise that option.

All full-time staff are involved to some extent in the evenings and on Saturday afternoons.

Sundays usually involve a family-style outing to a tourist, cultural or leisure attraction (in abundance locally) or perhaps just walking with the Headmaster’s family and dogs in the beautiful local countryside.
