9.20am: The U11 Cricket tournament at Sedbergh has been CANCELLED due to rain.
The 1st XI plays Red House (Home) this afternoon (2pm) and the 1st and U10 Rounders teams are away at Cundall.

Tha U11 cricket match at Red House is now OFF as their pitch is waterlogged. (9.50am).
There is a Health and Safety committee meeting at 5.15pm.
French and Spanish Orals start today. There is a Maths play taking place this morning.
The U13 girls play Read School (Home) this afternoon at 2.30pm.
Though the sun is shining, the 1st XI cricket match this afternoon is OFF as it is still too wet to prepare a wicket. Other fixtures are still ON as in the calendar though the 1st Rounders match is now at Terrington and the U9 Rounders will be played on Astro.
This afternoon's match against Read (U 10 Rounders) has been postponed until 23rd May.
Despite a better forecast for Saturday, the 1st XI match is in doubt due to the volume of rain which has fallen on the wicket in the last two days.
There is a coffee morning for new parents in the Dining Room from 8.30am.
Year 7 has gone to a film studio today to be "extras" in a new film. Great excitement!
This afternoon, there is a music and dance workshop with Loretto School followed by a brief concert at 5pm....All welcome.
PLEASE NOTE The U10 Rounders match v Read School will take place on 23rd May, NOT tomorrow.

Matches this afternoon are against Bramcote/Woodleigh, 1st XI cricket at home, U11 cricket at Woodleigh and all three rounders matches at Bramcote (2pm start). Any weather problems will be reported here.
The U11 girls play their IAPS Cup game today, at St Pius School, Preston.
There is a Uniform Committee meeting at 5.30pm.
5.30pm: We have just heard: U11 girls due back for 6.45 approximately.

Following further rain in Durham, both days of our two-day cricket match have been cancelled. This afternoon's Rounders match are still ON. (2pm start).
1.15pm: At present all HOME matches scheduled for this afternoon are ON....the U11 match at Lyndhurst has just been cancelled due to heavy rain in Pocklington.
Congratulations to the Girls first team which began its season with a victory yesterday. Please note (weather permitting) both boys and girls first teams begin their JET Cup campaigns tomorrow afternoon. Futher details will follow.
All cricket matches are OFF because pitches remain waterlogged. The girls' Rounders matches at Harrogate are still ON and any change in the arrangements will be published here by 2pm. Games start at 4.30pm.
Tomorrow's cricket fixtures are in doubt as the pitches at Aysgarth are still under water and our square is very wet. A final decision will be taken later today.

Congratulations to the Boys' Tennis team which registered a narrow victory over Cundall yesterday.
Weather permitting, there is a Boys' tennis match this afternoon v Cundall (HOME) at 4pm.
Today's cricket has had to be postponed as the wicket is still waterlogged despite improved weather in the last 24 hours. It has been rearranged for next Friday afternoon at 3pm.
The Rounders match has also had to be cancelled (11am) following further rain this morning.
Term restarts this morning for all: a warm welcome to all of our 12 new pupils.
Pre-season cricket and rounders practices for senior pupils this afternoon from 2pm. It has now started to rain (1236) as predicted. Rounders will go ahead indoors but cricket is unlikely to take place as the ground conditions are already very wet. A final decision will be taken at 1.30pm.

Arrived in Albert in the Somme region and about to go to bed! Tomorrow morning we will visit the battlefields but still hope to be back at Terrington by 8.30pm as planned. Updates, if different, will follow here.

Had a splendid morning at the Stade de France, afternoon at Napoleans Tomb and the War Museum, just going for a bite to eat then an evening tour of the lights of Paris.

Lovely morning at Montmartre, picnic virtually under the Eiffel Tower, wet and windy trip on Bateaux Mouche followed by trip to hypermarket. About to go to a local restaurant for evening meal.

We have just heard from Paris - the group have arrived safely at the hotel and are just going for a swim!

The Paris trip departs tomorrow morning. It is hoped to be able to provide updates of their progress here.
Term has now concluded, though events continue during the holidays starting with the inaugural Golf Tour on Monday 2nd April. This "blog" will be updated (but only periodically) over the holidays.

This afternoon, Yr 8 will be holding their Charity Fair in the Dining Room (from 3.30pm).
This evening is the technical rehearsal of We Will Rock You.
The Rosslyn Park squad are now on their way home from London and are expected back at Terrington mid-afternoon.
We have just heard from the 7's squad in London. They are about to leave the hotel to check in at the tournament and wishing they had packed suncream - the weather is, they say, absolutely glorious!

The 1st Rugby sevens squad leaves this afternoon for their annual trip to Rosslyn Park. Updates of their progress will follow here.
There are no matches this afternoon but there will be a rehearsal for the cast of "We Will Rock You" between 12.30 and 4.30pm.

The 1st XI football team concludes its season today with a fixture against Minster School (2.30pm) at Bootham Hospital ground.
Other matches include 1st XI Hockey at Easingwold (3.30), U10 football tournament at Bow, Durham (1.15pm) and we host our annual U9 High Five Netball tournament (2pm).

The Junior Choir is visiting Hollis Court this afternoon to sing for the residents.
There is a mixed hockey match for U11's starting at 3.10pm at Home.
Reception and Yr 4 are visiting Malton Library this morning.
Another busy sporting day. U13 Rugby at Mowden (first match at 1pm), U11 boys and girls at SMA (from 1.30pm) and U13 girls at Queen Margaret's (1pm start). Results and reports will follow.
