Tasty nutritious food
- All our meals are home- made using fresh local produce by our team of chefs in the school kitchen every morning.
- We provide a choice of at least 7 different fresh fruit and vegetables through out the day.
- We provide a vegetarian dish everyday for Lunch and Supper, and this is available to all pupils.
- All dietary requirements are catered for, we work very closely with the children and their parents to make sure the requirements and tastes are met !
- Twice a week the children are provided with crudités: carrot sticks, celery sticks, cucumber sticks, sugar snap peas and baby corn are accompanied with garlic dips.
- Fresh fruit is offered as an alternative to the sweet of the day.
- Every evening after supper, the pupils are provided with a selection of fresh fruit, homemade biscuits, bread and preserves.
- Our Catering Committee meets every term to go through menus for the following term. This committee is made up of a selection of children from each year group, two senior teachers and two parents who are both chefs one of them has award winning credentials and the other is a qualified Nutritionist !!! (Very hard to please)
- This Term we have introduced a salad bar onto the menus. This has proved to be a massive hit with the children. At the moment we are letting year groups have the extra choice each day, Years 3 & 4 on a Monday, Y5 Tuesday, Y6 Wednesday, Y7 Thursday Y8 Friday and everybody on Saturday The long term plan after the euphoria surrounding the Salad bar calms down is to let all children have the choice every day of the week.
Boarders are being given the Salad Bar as an extra every night and are emptying it on a regular basis.
Pre Prep are also given the choice each day and are not surprisingly taking this opportunity by both hands and are loving it. I hope this is all old news and your children have all come home telling you all every detail of the new salad bar.
If you have any comments or queries regarding our new menus, or any suggestions for the next term, please don’t hesitate to come and see me, (Chris Barnes, General Facilities & Catering manager) in my office behind the School’s kitchen or e-mail me at chrisbarnes@terringtonhall.com
