Featuring solo, duet and ensemble arrangements for strings, brass, woodwind and vocals, and culminating in rousing pieces by the choir, band and orchestra, the performances were warmly applauded by an appreciative audience of family, siblings, friends and staff.
Highlights included Steven Jones's poignant and beautifully sustained cornet solo ‘Adagio' by Albinoni, and Abi Watkinson's crystal pure vocal rendition of ‘Think of Me' from Phantom of the Opera.
With thanks to Mrs Purcell and Miss Woodhead for pulling together another memorable evening of music; to the peripatetic music staff who gave up their time to accompany and encourage their pupils; and always remembering Geoffrey Marshall, sadly missed, who taught brass at the school for ten years and whose baton has been so ably taken up by brass teacher Poitr Selwesiuk.
