U9 ‘A' Team vs. Cundall Manor
This was a pleasing performance for our first outing. The boys played some excellent football at times and some of their moves showed a good awareness of space and of the need for passing. Unfortunately we were considerably smaller than the opposition and as a result we were pushed off the ball too often. The muddiness of the pitch also affected our play - we failed to put enough power into our passes and so they were often intercepted.
The final score of 8 -4 to Cundall was a little flattering to them. It was 6 -4 with two minutes to go but two late goals pushed them further ahead. Our goals were scored by Josh Gath (3) and James Barker, they all came as a result of excellent passing and movement off the ball; on the right surface this sort of play will make this team very hard to beat.
Well done to all of the boys, our next match is Saturday afternoon.
