This was the first hockey match of the term and a comfortable victory was had. Particularly pleasing was the way in which the team played together making passes and looking at what was going on around them. In the first ten minutes Lily had bagged a hat trick, all tap ins at the back post. The ball was worked well down the right wing with Eliza and Tara supplying the crosses. The game was a little scrappy as the Minster defense closed in around the goalkeeper This made it more important that the passing was accurate.
Annabelle took advantage of the lack of tackling in the D to force home two further goals before half time. During the game the Terrington girls moved into a variety of positions and pleasingly didn't lose the ability to pass. Angela set up Iona with a brilliantly slipped ball inside the defender and we very nearly followed this with another even better goal after about a dozen passes but unfortunately the final ball was well cut out. Serena and Angela both got themselves on the score sheet. In the second half Frankie came up from the U11's and tried really hard, she certainly got stuck in.
Although the opposition were not particularly strong this was a good result given the fact that we haven't played together for so long. It was a great team performance carrying on from the progress we made last term, next though comes 11 a side with new challenges.
Final Score Terrington 10 - 0 Minster
