The U12's played their first match of the term and started with a good win against Cundall. The early stages of the game went our way and be quarter time we were already 5 - 0 ahead. Cundall then came back into the match over the next two quarters and with just ten minutes to go we found ourselves behind by a goal but we rallied through the last quarter and snatched victory.
It wasn't an easy game as Cundall were quite physical but some excellent individual performances lead to the win. Scarlett started in cracking form before injury meant that she moved back into defense, while twin Ella had the man of the match award for her ball winning and intercepting at WD. She covered for the defense and was the start of so much of the good work we had going forward. Iona and Tara were a good partnership in attack and the shooting of Tara in the final quarter won the match for us. In defense Abi played well winning a lot of lose ball and picking up rebounds.
Having got ourselves into a winning situation so early in the game we sat back assumed things would continue in the same fashion and then panicked as Cundall came back into the match. But we had the class in the end to come through and raced three ahead before Cundall scored two late goals.
