This afternoon saw the U8 girls come out fit and fighting ready for the second match as a squad this season.
Captain Lottie had super luck and won the toss; choosing the first centre pass. Cundall got ahead quickly with excellent attacking skills and it looked as if we were going to be in for a tough match. But with some super defending from Rachel and Ellie, they finished to the first quarter only 1-0 down. The Terrington girls certainly came back fighting in the second quarter with the with assistance of shooting duo Georgina and Rachel. By half time, Terrington had pulled back 2 goals; keeping close to Cundalls heels, leaving the score 3-2 to Cundall.
After some supportive words from Miss I'Anson and her cheerleaders(Mrs Combe and Mrs Lindenberg) the girls really got stuck into the second half. They were beginning to use much more of the court; making them more available and open for their team mates. A special mention here to Olympia who worked really hard in centre position.
The final score was 3-4. I can now see this group of girls working together as a team and using the skills they have learnt in lessons in to practice.
Lots more matches coming up this term girls. Keep up the hard work!
