The clouds gathered and the wind howled and we had a feeling we were not going to have a good game. The girls were already feeling nervous because we were playing 7 a side and not the normal high 5's game.
We lost the toss and the game unfolded with Belmont proving to be a very strong team and our brains still on the bus. They scored 4 goals in very quick sucession without us even putting our hands on the ball. They were a very well drilled and tall team which made it difficult for us to get the ball down the court.
We went into the second quarter feeling disheartened and it showed in our level of play, we were sloppy with our passing and did not move towards the ball making it easy for Belmont to intercept and score. They increased their lead to 0-9 in this quarter.
At half time we had a rethink and got motivated again playing our best quarter of the game only allowing 1 goal past us.
The final quarter was hard fought by the girls again and I was so pleased with the grit and determination they showed in the second half of the game.

The girls were obviously disappointed with the game but they should be proud of the way they picked themselves up and kept going till the end of the game. Well done girls a great effort.
