On Wednesday 25th January the U9 team set out in good spirits; eager for a win! Unfortunately Captain Poppy lost the toss, giving the first centre pass to Queen Marys. The first quarter saw some fabulous attacking from Lizzie and Emily. Lots of near misses; no goals. Score at end of quarter 1-0 Queen Marys. After a rotation of players, the girls really got stuck in, using much more of the court. Rachel worked very hard in centre position, certainly keeping the opposition on their toes! Queen Marys had some very strong and accurate shooters, pulling in another 3 goals. At half time the score was 4-0. With LOTS and LOTS of encouraging words, The U9 girls came back into the second half of the match with the vision of winning. The girls all worked very well as a team and used signalling to pass and recieve the ball. Terrington managed to pull back 2 super goals by little miss nifty herself; Georgina! The girls fought hard to the end, but in this very quick moving netball match, the score at whistle was 7-3.
I am thrilled to see the progress that the girls have made, working very well as a team. I wish you all lots of luck in your future matches!
Miss I'Anson
