A chilly day for netball so luckily for us Mrs Glen was good enough to take the U11's outside and let us use the sports hall.
We were playing a 7-a side game which we are not particularly well practised in, the girls however started the game strong with an early goal from Lizzie. The ball was moving from end to end with some fantasic interceptions from Christabel and Rachel in centre court. Our defence was solid from Poppy and Emily and so Read did not manage to score. Lizze managed to get two more goals towards the end of the quarter with the ball being fed well by Georgina.
The second quarter started quickly and silly mistakes were being made by the girls who found it hard to keep up with the pace of the game. Lottie Combe was diving all over the place to retrieve the lose balls and getting them to Lizzie in the D who scored another 2 goals. Read struggled to get past our defence and did not manage to score.
At half time we had a shuffle around and the girls played some positions that they did not play regularly. Emily scored 3 goals bringing our score to 8-0, I was thrilled with the pace of the game and how well the girls spaced themselves out around the court.
In the final quarter Christabel had a rest from centre and had a go at shooting where she scored 2 fantastic goals from a large distance. Our defence was finally beaten down in this quarter and Read slipped 2 goals past us.
The final score was 10-2
