On Tuesday 28th February, the U8 team were very excited when they heard they would be playing not one, but three matches that afternoon. Miss I'Anson saw this as a great opportunity for the girls to rotate positions more frequently and gain confidence. The first game was played against Lyndhurst, who were an equally strong team. Both teams fought very hard, with fantastic defending in both halves; leaving the score at full time 0-0.
Cundall were very lucky to have brought a strong side of 15, which meant that they had two teams. Terrington played Cundall 1 first. Again another very tough battle. Some great attempts at shooting from the Terrington girls but unfortunately no goals scored in this match. In the final game, against Cundall 2, Miss I'Anson pleaded with the girls for at least one goal. Terrington played the best game I had seen that afternoon with great teamwork from all players and shooting duo Olympia and Rachel. The final score was 2-1 to Terrington.
A very enjoyable afternoon was had by all girls.

On Saturday 25th February, the U9 squad set out with high hopes of winning. With postions in place, the starting whistle blew. Centre Georgina, looked carefully around to find the most available players to pass to. Some fantasic teamwork by Christabel and Lizzie who controlled the ball well, holding off the defending team. The half time whistle blew. Terrington in the lead with four fabulous goals by Christabel! The second half saw Olympia take role as centre. Olympia used her skills learnt in games sessions and used the space available;making great use of the edges of the 'D'. 'Dream team' Emily and Rachel worked extremely well together, demonstrating an array of passing techniques. Leaving the final score 7-0.
Another very good match girls! Keep up the hard work.

On Wednesday 1st February, the U9 girls set off to Harrogate in the hopes of their first win for the season. After some last minute changes to the team, the girls donned their bibs in ideal positions and prepared themselves for the first quarter. From the first whistle the Terrington girls worked as a team; calling and signalling, allowing them to keep good possesion of the ball. Some fabulous intercepting from Rachel and Captain Christabel kept the ball away from the opponants net. Shooting duo Emily and Lizzie were certainly out in force scoring a super 4 goals in the first 7minutes; leaving the score at time 4-0.
The second quarter saw both teams eager to score. The Highfield girls worked very well in their new rotation with some wonderful defending. The defending was equally strong with Georgina and Emily keeping good guard over their goal. This left the score at half time untouched.
The Terrington gilrs were certainly in high spirits going in to the second half in the lead. The game became much more fluid with the girls using the court to their full advantage. Lizzie and Emily again worked fabulously together scoring a whopping 4 goals between them. 7 minutes left and 8-0 to Terrington!
With some very red faces from the energetic bodies the girls went in to final quater very happy ladies indeed. It was wonderful to see a strategic plan coming together that the girls had devised themselves. Rachel as centre saw that each time a centre pass took place, Emily was able to make herself free on the left. Lizzie then made her way down the the 'D' and with one simple pass the ball was in play. Fabulous accuracy from both shooters; giving Terrington another 5 goals. Leaving the score at full time 13-0.
I am absolutely thrilled with todays score. The girls worked wonderful as a team and were using strategies without coaching. I hope that this win will give the girls the long awaited confidence boost they need and help to put them on a winning streak!

On Wednesday 25th January the U9 team set out in good spirits; eager for a win! Unfortunately Captain Poppy lost the toss, giving the first centre pass to Queen Marys. The first quarter saw some fabulous attacking from Lizzie and Emily. Lots of near misses; no goals. Score at end of quarter 1-0 Queen Marys. After a rotation of players, the girls really got stuck in, using much more of the court. Rachel worked very hard in centre position, certainly keeping the opposition on their toes! Queen Marys had some very strong and accurate shooters, pulling in another 3 goals. At half time the score was 4-0. With LOTS and LOTS of encouraging words, The U9 girls came back into the second half of the match with the vision of winning. The girls all worked very well as a team and used signalling to pass and recieve the ball. Terrington managed to pull back 2 super goals by little miss nifty herself; Georgina! The girls fought hard to the end, but in this very quick moving netball match, the score at whistle was 7-3.
I am thrilled to see the progress that the girls have made, working very well as a team. I wish you all lots of luck in your future matches!
Miss I'Anson
This afternoon saw the U8 girls come out fit and fighting ready for the second match as a squad this season.
Captain Lottie had super luck and won the toss; choosing the first centre pass. Cundall got ahead quickly with excellent attacking skills and it looked as if we were going to be in for a tough match. But with some super defending from Rachel and Ellie, they finished to the first quarter only 1-0 down. The Terrington girls certainly came back fighting in the second quarter with the with assistance of shooting duo Georgina and Rachel. By half time, Terrington had pulled back 2 goals; keeping close to Cundalls heels, leaving the score 3-2 to Cundall.
After some supportive words from Miss I'Anson and her cheerleaders(Mrs Combe and Mrs Lindenberg) the girls really got stuck into the second half. They were beginning to use much more of the court; making them more available and open for their team mates. A special mention here to Olympia who worked really hard in centre position.
The final score was 3-4. I can now see this group of girls working together as a team and using the skills they have learnt in lessons in to practice.
Lots more matches coming up this term girls. Keep up the hard work!

On Saturday 5th November, 10 members of upper Junior School came to Miss I'Anson's Rocket Making workshop. When the children arrived they competed in a competition to see who could find the most words out of 'Guy fawkes'. The competition was tight but Christabel just scarped a win with 24 words. Next everyone went out on to the field where the previous nights fireworks had been help, to help Mr Thompson but up the hundreds of capsules left from the fireworks. The children were told to save things that they found interesting as they may come in useful later! When back inside, in the warmth, the children were given their task; to design a space rocket. The children made their way in to groups and began designing their rockets. When Miss I'Anson saw that the designs were in good order, she took them off to the 'Rocket Making Workshop'. Some great designs came to life and the rockets were taking shape! When the rockets were ready, Year 3 and 4 set off on to the field to release their rockets. The children competed to see who could get their rockets the furthest. The winners were Lizzie and Olymipa! Well done girls, great teamwork! To finsh off the morning at Saturday School, the children made edible sparklers( which were eaten almost as quick as they were made!)
Thank you so much junior school for a lovely morning!
On Monday 31st October, the children of Nursery, Reception and Year One, donned their spookiest Halloween costumes and join in the spooky party afternoon. The children had lots of fun playing games such as 'Monster Bumps' and 'Scary Statues. The winners of the games indulged in various scary treat sweets! Following the games indoors, Miss Savage thought it best that the children cool off with APPLE BOBBING! All children were very brave and dipped their heads in to the water to retrieve an apple. To end our spooky celebrations, the children enjoyed listening to 'The Funnybones' by pumpkin light.
A very soggy day for Forest Schools Today. The boys set off on their woodland walk where they collected various items that they liked; such as twigs and leaves and put them in their special bags. These items were to be used later! During the walk, Reception did some tree rubbings using white aper and autumn coloured wax crayons. After the woodland walk the 'Forest Schoolers' came back to the Pre-Prep art room where they worked very hard to produce some wonderful tree collages using the materials they had earlier collected. All that hard work definately gave the boys an appetite! Reception were given another chance to taste some of the delights of 'camping' food. They helped Mrs Watson to make a yummy chocolate ganache using the camping stove and finished off their afternoon eating it all up with marshmallows, strawberries, grapes and banana.
I think by the look on the boys faces, today was yet another very successful Forest Lesson!
What a wonderul afternoon the Reception boys have had on their weekly visit to the forest. Today the boys made a pretend campfire and talked about the different reasons why fires may be useful when in the forest. The boys then fancied a spot of cooking. So, with the kind help from Mrs Watson and Miss Morelle, they heated up some beans and sausage and had a real 'camping experience' snack! mmmmmmmmmm!!! To round off their afternoon, the boys decided that a leaf fight was well in order. I think it can be safely said that Reception had a wonderful time.
Thank you Mrs Watson and Miss Morelle.
