1st XV vs. Mowden Hall
It would seem that this may well be a season that is destined to be remembered more for our appalling luck with injuries than for any other reason. It was with a depleted team that we took the field on Saturday and even some of those who did play were not quite 100%.
The match did, however, present the boys who were playing with an opportunity to show just how good they can be without their captain and Cameron and Saki. I am delighted to report that despite a 10 -36 loss I couldn't be more proud of the way they played. Our first try came from excellent passing and running by Reece, Joseph and Jordan, who eventually linked up with Jack, giving him a superbly timed pass, to score. How fantastic to see these boys making such a contribution to a try! Our second try again came from excellent team work, this time in was Nathan who touched down following some excellent passing, rucking and off loading of the ball.
Our defence was outstanding once again and there were very few lapses despite Mowden having some strong runners. Special mention goes to Joe, Jack, Nathan, Charlie T, Charlie B and Eddie T for their fantastic contributions. Unfortunately more injuries have led to our next match being cancelled but we hope to be back playing at full strength in the very near future.
