Destination schools
The freedom of choice
The wide and varied curriculum at Terrington Hall lays the foundations for a successful future and opens doors to the best senior schools.

The right school for your child
As a standalone prep school, we are uniquely positioned to help families select the right senior school for their child, rather than steering them through to a specific linked school. Children have the freedom to develop their characters and discover their strengths before decisions on destination schools are made.
Senior Schools Fair
Our annual Senior Schools Fair attracts senior schools from the length and breadth of the country, all keen to attract pupils who have the benefit of a Terrington Hall preparatory education.
A wealth of knowledge and advice
The Headmaster and our experienced Upper Prep staff know children well and also have extensive knowledge of senior schools near and far. They work closely with parents to give advice and suggest possible destinations – a process we recommend starts in Year 6.

CE exam preparation
In Years 7 and 8 the curriculum prepares all pupils for the requirements of the ISEB Common Entrance Examination or Common Scholarship examination. We also assist children in preparing for specific entrance exams to senior schools, including reasoning lessons and interview practice.
Pupils leaving Year 8 in the last three academic years went on to:
- Ampleforth College
- Barnard Castle School
- Bootham School
- Durham School
- Malton School
- Pocklington School
- Queen Margaret’s School
- Repton School.
- Ripon Grammar School
- Scarborough College
- Sedbergh School
- Shrewsbury School
- St Peter’s School, York
- The Mount School
- Uppingham School

Thank you for all the effort put into the Schools Fair today. It was an impressive range of schools from the length and breadth of the country and it was great to talk to a few and see the options out there.
