Headmaster’s welcome
A welcome from Simon Kibler, Headmaster
A very warm welcome to Terrington Hall School, a kind and nurturing environment where children enjoy finding their passions, discovering their strengths and making lifelong friendships.
We’re a truly independent Prep School in an idyllic location in the heart of the Howardian Hills, just north of York. We welcome children from 3-13 and expand their horizons inside and outside the classroom by supporting every step of their journey of discovery.

Terrington Hall children are happy, well-mannered and kind. They have the confidence to have a go and the motivation to improve. Just as important, they learn every day the importance of collaboration, teamwork and mutual support.
Small class sizes, exceptional pastoral care, a forward-thinking curriculum, activities galore outside the classroom, plus a vibrant weekly and flexi-boarding community, help make Terrington Hall a special place to grow.
Your hard work, dedication and ambition for the children is plain to see.
Children love exploring our forest, playing sports and having fun in our nine acres of grounds. They’re inspired and stimulated by carefully-planned lessons. They develop new skills through learning instruments and performing regularly. They play a wide variety of sports and enjoy a varied enrichment programme.
The breadth and quality of the senior schools our children go on to reflect our focus on helping each child develop solid roots of confidence, ability and people skills so they continue to branch out and bloom.
I’m proud to be Headmaster of this popular and thriving school – and along with our governors and management team, I’m ambitious in our aims and we’re continually looking to evolve. Children are at the centre of all that we do and that fires the creativity and energy of our excellent teachers and support staff.
Come and see for yourself what makes Terrington Hall exceptional. Contact us to book a time to suit you and I’ll be delighted to show you round and introduce you to our warm and welcoming community.

I really like Mr Kibler because if we are in the playground playing with a ball, he will take time out of his day to play with us and pass the ball around.
