Meet the Terrington Hall Committee
Terrington Hall is now part of the Sedbergh Schools Group. Members of our former Board of Governors now form the Terrington Hall Committee, responsible for local oversight of the school with respect to education, safeguarding, pastoral care, admissions and parent liaison at Terrington Hall.
Strategic governance, financial sustainability, compliance and strategic educational development are now driven by the wider Sedbergh Schools Group Board. The Terrington Hall Committee is appointed by, and reports into the Group Board.
Together, Terrington Hall’s local and group governance teams bring a wealth of experience, giving their time and expertise to provide valuable support to the Headmaster and senior leaders.
New Committee members are recruited through an annual skills audit. Candidates for Committee and Group positions are interviewed and go through the statutory Safer Recruitment process, which includes references, safeguarding, ratification by the Group Board and a comprehensive induction programme.
We are grateful to our Committee who are all volunteers, passionate about the wellbeing and excellence of our School.

Working together, leaders and governors ensure pupils receive a broad and balanced curriculum, supported by a well-planned co-curricular programme. Consequently, pupils make good progress, and many secure places at senior schools with selective entry standards, and some regularly gain awards.
