Terrington Hall's Board of Governors bring a wealth of experience and knowledge and give their time and expertise to govern all aspects of running the school such as financial sustainability, safeguarding and the educational quality of the teaching. They provide valuable support to the Headmaster and Senior Managers through the various sub committees.

Katharine is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Masters Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Digital Marketing, having previously been founder and director of an independent strategy consultancy in London.
Katharine began her career as a marketer, developing well-known consumer brands at Johnson & Johnson where she was group brand manager. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Chartered Institute of Digital Marketing.
Katharine graduated from the University of Cambridge with a MA in Geography and an MBA from Imperial College London where she received the Imperial Business School Award for best postgraduate performance.
She is passionate about music and plays the trombone and piano.Â Katharine and her husband Wilson live on a working farm just outside of Helmsley and have three daughters at Terrington Hall School.
Zoe is a director of a family owned food manufacturing company and farming business, and is co-founder of Bannisters Yorkshire Family Farm, a challenger brand in the food industry.Â
Having read law at the University of Nottingham, Zoeâ€™s career began with a training contract at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where she qualified as a solicitor into the Corporate Department in 1998.Â
Her practice consisted mainly of private and public M&A work at Freshfields London, with secondments to Hong Kong and Hewlett Packardâ€™s EMEA HQ in Switzerland.Â Â
Zoe returned to her Yorkshire roots in 2005 and has been working since then in the food and farming sector.Â In a voluntary capacity, she served for several years on the Regional Area Board of The Manufacturers Organisation (now MAKE UK) and is currently a member of the Steering Group of the Yorkshire Wolds and Coast Farmers Group.Â She is married and has two children who attend the school.
William is currently Chief Executive and Clerk of the Course of York Racecourse having previously been Commercial Director at Ascot Racecourse.Â
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales having qualified with PwC and then completed an executive education programme at Harvard Business School.
William graduated with a first class degree in Agricultural Economics from Imperial College Wye, London University.Â
He is a member of the Company of Merchant Adventurers of the City of York and was previously voted Ambassador of the Year in York. William and his wife Polly have two daughters.
Martyn is chairman of York-based S Harrison Developments Ltd, one of the UKâ€™s most successful privately owned property and development companies where, after more than 40 years at the helm, he continues to take a hands-on role.Â
He brings that knowledge and experience to the schoolâ€™s Finance and Estate committee. He takes pride in his Yorkshire roots and through his company has been involved in a number of high profile regeneration and conservation projects across the region.
Martyn lives in Nunnington with his wife Sally and son Bart.Â He enjoys Alpine hiking and skiing and is a passionate follower of motorsport.
Richard joined the board in 2008. He is hugely passionate about education and lends his experience and expertise as a former headmaster.
His last three appointments, before retirement, were as Headmaster at King's School, Bruton, Headmaster at St Peter's School, York, and finally Principal at Fulwood Academy in Preston.
Richard firmly believes that society needs to educate our children to learn to learn; to learn to think and to eventually become independent learners.
Richard lives in Stillington with his wife Nicole. He has three children, one of whom still lives at home.
Kenelm joined the board of THPS in 2012, and sits on the Teaching and Learning Committee.
He is a landowner/ manager of Settrington Estate. He was an executive in media and has been in biotech, having been a non-executive director and chairman of companies in both.
He was at Winchester College and George Washington University, USA (BBA, high GPA, Deanâ€™s List). He was on the Yorkshire Committee of the CLA. He is President of the Thirsk & Malton Conservative Association and of Scarborough Cricket Club. He is Chairman of the Samuel Storey Family Charitable Trust.
Kenelm is married to Karen and they have had three children in the school.Â
