A Message from the Headmaster

In testing times, a community’s true colours shine through, and in the past few weeks Terrington Hall’s have shone through in abundance. We have encouraged each other, supported each other, been there for each other. We have worked hard and we have been kind.

I am humbled by my dedicated team of staff’s supreme effort in swiftly putting in place a full, engaging and exciting programme of online learning, and for their unceasing care of our pupils’ wellbeing.

I am in awe of our pupils who have shown extraordinary adaptability and resilience, embracing the new style of learning with an open and enquiring mind.

I am moved by the unwavering support of our parent body and by their many messages of thanks.

I am determined that in these times when we must be apart, that our children will still feel connected, and that there will still be many opportunities for them to experience the joyful exuberance and sheer fun and excitement of a Terrington education.

In our last assembly, my promise to our children was that those things which are dear to them – the annual camp-out, the summer waterfight, sports day – will all still happen, it just might be in our gardens and by virtue of sharing photographs and videos online.

My goal in all this is that our children’s learning is able to continue in the weeks ahead and we will put in every effort to ensure that this happens.

I look forward to the day that parents, pupils and staff can return to Terrington Hall. Until then, keep healthy and stay safe.
