Having placed sixth in the 2019 Iame X30 Mini British Kart Championships, Bart Harrison (pictured centre) finished his year in the X30 Mini category in fine style by winning the Autumn Cup.

Attended by all the top UK teams, the Autumn Cup is a four-round series based at the PF International circuit in Lincolnshire.

Bart was unable to compete in the first round in September due to a Euro Series commitment in France, but with only three scores counting from the four Autumn Cup race weekends there was still a chance of a top placing in the series.

His first outing, in round two, was his last race for the Fusion Motorsport team, after two successful years with the outfit. It could not have gone better, with a strong performance all weekend culminating in the race win.

The following round saw Bart turn out for the first time with Mick Barrett Racing, a team which has nurtured many top drivers including current F1 stars Lando Norris and Alex Albion. And what a start it was, with a dominant win on his team debut.

Heading into the final round, a top six finish would secure the Autumn Cup and Bart didn’t disappoint, with a calm and calculated drive to second place in his final race in the X30 Mini class. A great way to end the season.

Bart and the team have passed up the opportunity to remain in the Mini class for the 2020 season and opted for the stiffer challenge of X30 Junior, which is open to drivers up to sixteen years of age.

In his first race weekend in January, Bart qualified second in a field of over fifty of the UK’s top competitors. His race ended in disappointment when he was taken off the track by a reckless move by another driver, but his pace and consistency were impressive and encouraging. Next stop Valencia, for the Winter Cup.
