We are delighted to be able to share the news that Serena Derby has been awarded the C B Fry Scholarship by Repton School and that Isaac Simmons and Rollo Storey have both been awarded C B Fry Exhibitions. These are for entry into Repton in September 2021.

This is a significant achievement by all three pupils and they are to be warmly congratulated for the recognition of their talents and abilities.

The awards are offered to boys and girls who, over a two-day assessment period, perform well over all aspects of school life - academic, sporting, music or art, teamwork and leadership. An important aspect of the award is the ability to inspire and lead others, a quality in our pupils which drew much praise.

In the award of Serena’s C B Fry scholarship, particular highlights were made of Serena’s leadership qualities: ‘she led without being overbearing, asked for input from the team and gave really positive encouragement to them throughout.’ Serena also performed very well in the English exam and the teamwork session and Repton commented on her passion for musical theatre after her singing assessment.

Performing well in his English test and on athleticism, Isaac was described as a ‘confident and most articulate interviewee, strong team player and clearly a most promising musician’. Repton were also impressed by his ‘strong personality, his range of talents and his ability to lead and inspire those around him.’

During his assessments, Rollo impressed with his athleticism, natural talent and the breadth of his interests. Positive and engaging at interview, he proved to be a confident and interesting conversationalist.
