Our charities
The power of kindness
Kindness is at the heart of everything at Terrington Hall. One of the most practical ways we demonstrate this core value is by working together to support charities. This allows every child to experience the joy and satisfaction of helping others.
Every academic year the school selects a charity to support. Our community then comes together for a range of fundraising activities – everything from bucket collections to donations of raffle prizes.
The generosity and commitment of our parents’ group, the Friends of Terrington Hall, plays a significant role in our charity fundraising too. Their involvement ensures that the causes we support are close to everyone’s hearts. The Friends also support many of our development projects at school.

Support for great causes
Over the years, our school community has raised an incredible amount of money for a range of wonderful causes, both local and nationwide. In 2021-2 we raised money for our charity of the year, Young Minds, as well as for Ukraine appeals, Alopecia UK, Jeans for Genes and Myeloma UK. We also support Children in Need, Red Nose Day and other great charities.

Children take the lead
Children also suggest, plan and carry out fundraising for causes close to their heart. As part of the TALL Programme, Year 8 pupils suggest and carry through a range of fundraising activities, from sponsored walks to bake sales.

Through charitable giving, pupils acquire a deeper understanding of those less fortunate than themselves.
