Memorable performance of Elf puts us all in the mood for Christmas!
The Upper Prep production of Elf really set the tone for Christmas with a lively, feel-good performance which was both hilariously funny and poignant. Mme Grant gave the following review:
“Who did not have the songs of Elf running through their heads as they hit the pillow last Thursday and Friday evening? The Upper Prep put their heart and soul into both performances.
“Most of us know the movie, so knew what to expect, but our pupils put their own spin on the characters and had learnt their parts very well. The costumes stood out, as did the backdrops and props designed by Mr Magson and Mr Pickering. I particularly enjoyed the hustle and bustle of Macey’s Department Store and really felt this was the start of Christmas 2022.

“Special mention of Henry as Elf must be made – he did a sterling job and has a powerful voice; Oliver impressed too as Santa Claus and spoke with such confidence. Morgan carried off the part of Buddy’s father, Walter Hobbs with style and panache, pacing around with his coffee cup. He learnt his words to perfection!

“My final mention goes to Imogen who has grown from the part she played last year as Matilda into Jovie, Buddy’s girlfriend. She sang with poise and purpose and I hope she continues to sing after she has left Terrington. With a lot of ‘Sparkle-jolly-twinkle-jingly’ and have a holiday that’s as bright as can be, I hope all the Upper Prep pupils have a well-earned rest. Well done to Mr Goldsmith-Stacey , Mrs Cole and Mrs Stubbs too!”
