Senior schools made 12 scholarships and award offers to seven of our Year 8 pupils in the last academic year – which is impressive for a class of 14 pupils.

Scholarships, Awards and Exhibitions are granted by senior schools in recognition of pupils’ talents and potential. They are also an indication that the school thinks the child’s attitude and manner will be an asset to them.

Pupils must undergo interviews, exams and assessments at the senior school as part of their application process, against stiff competition from talented children from other schools.

This year we’re delighted that the following Scholarships and Awards were offered:

• Betsy: Sports Scholarships to both Sedbergh and Repton.
• George: Sport Scholarships to both Sedbergh and Scarborough College.
• Olivia: Sport Scholarships to both Ampleforth College and Sedbergh.
• Harry: Sport and Drama Scholarship to Ampleforth College and a Head’s Award to Sedbergh.
• Amira: Drama Scholarship to Bootham.
• Isabel: All Rounder Scholarship to Scarborough College.
• William: All Rounder Scholarship to Scarborough College.

As we look forward to an exciting new school year here at Terrington Hall, we’re sending our very best wishes to last year’s Year 8 pupils – with the confidence that every one of them is well prepared to thrive at their senior school of choice.
