Boarding dogs in the news!

Our wonderful boarding house dogs past and present are featured in the latest issue of the Boarding Schools' Association Magazine, which promotes the best in boarding education across the world.

The BSA magazine highlights the arrival this summer of Flossie, who moved in with Year 4 teacher and Head of Boarding Oliver Sigsworth, his wife Tori and their son Monty.

Flossie has proved a huge hit with our boarders, who love to stroke her, take her out for walks, and cuddle up for a quiet chat.

Flossie’s arrival follows the departure of Merlin, a very popular French Spaniel who moved with his owners for a new posting in the UAE. Flossie quickly settled in to her new home and lost no time in establishing herself as top dog.

Her kind and gently manner and ability to make people smile wherever she goes, has ensured she has made many friends among the boys and girls who board at our school on a flexi, weekly or term-time basis.

Mr Sigsworth said: “It was a lovely surprise that the BSA decided to feature Flossie. Their article captures her personality beautifully in that she’s full of fun but is also very clam and intuitive dog.

She has an unerring ability to calm children down by sidling up for a comforting cuddles if they’re feeling out of sorts. It’s amazing how any ‘tummy troubles’ melt away when Flossie is around.  She’s certainly at the centre of the boarding house team.”

We wanted our daughter to be outside, busy and nurtured. Terrington ticks all of these boxes and more.
