Confidence and Courage aplenty at the Geoffrey Marshall Concert
The confidence, courage and huge variety of talent among our children shone through at the Geoffrey Marshall Music and Drama Concert 2026.
From soloists to choirs, quartets to the orchestra, every pupil gave their best in a varied and entertaining programme of dramatic and music performance.
The showcase of the best of our school’s performers from Year 1 and above included solo performances on the tenor horn, flute, piano and drums, as well as solo singing and drama.
From the opening Orchestral rendition of Hungarian Dance No 5 by Johannes Brahms to the Upper Prep Choir’s closing Supercalifragilisticexpialodocious from Mary Poppins, the audience of families and staff were taken on a hugely entertaining musical adventure.
We were guided through the concert by Year 8 comperes who were as slick, professional and entertaining as the performing artists themselves. Fabulous ensemble recitals from the Chamber Choir, Quartet, Brass group, Encore Choir and Upper Prep Choir reflected their dedicated Enrichment time practice.
Many thanks to Mrs Dance for creating the Programme of Performance, to Mr Thornton-Holmes for accompanying, Miss Wilson for her crucial support, and to our wonderful team of peripatetic teachers.
We are extremely proud of all our performers and the backstage crew who helped with scene-changes, and applaud their mature approach to a concert which is among the highlights of our annual programme of events.
There are great opportunities for visits and extra curricular activities, with good facilities, committed staff and high teaching standards.
