Confidence shines through at Geoffrey Marshall concert
A huge variety of talent was on display at the annual Geoffrey Marshall Music and Drama Concert, which featured children from Year 3 to Year 8.
It took both confidence and courage to stand up in front of a packed audience of families, friends and staff, but the children’s hard work during practice and the concert rehearsals paid off beautifully.
The soloists sang with gusto and between them covered a range of genres and styles.
Our budding thespians were not to be outdone, regaling the audience with dramatic dialogue, speeches, poems and readings. All were delivered with extraordinary expression and clarity.
The concert reflected the dedication and hard work of our team of peri teachers, whose expertise, patience and warm encouragement spurs on our young performers every day.
This year saw the debut performance of our brass ensemble, which includes pupils from Year 3 to Year 8. They’ve only been rehearsing for a few weeks with Mr Woodrow but their teamwork and determination has already bred success.
It was also great to see everyone from Years 6-8 in the Senior Choir. The noise produced by 60 pupils singing in perfect harmony was fabulous.
Many thanks to Assistant Head Katie Cole for arranging this year’s concert. It was a delight to watch and a fine reflection of the breadth of opportunity for pupils at Terrington Hall School, as well as the enthusiasm and talent we are proud to nurture.
Every child that attends the school is allowed to shine and be a star.
