Fireworks night is huge success

The annual Terrington Hall Fireworks Display, organised by the Friends of Terrington Hall, was a fantastic evening which brought together the School community and many families from the village.

The evening began with tasty hot dogs and soup served by our catering team in the square, as the 300-plus parents and children who had bought tickets for the event mingled excitedly.

Everyone then moved on to the school fields, where local villagers joined us to watch the spectacular display, choreographed by former parent Jonathan Davies with accompanying music.

Thank you to Mr Davies and to the Friends of Terrington Hall for an enjoyable evening which successfully brought together the school community and people who live locally.

The School is mindful of people who are affected by loud noises and bangs and therefore find firework displays stressful. It has therefore made a donation from the proceeds of ticket sales from the event to Combat Stress, a charity which helps former servicemen and women with mental health problems such as post-traumatic stress disorder.

We also made efforts to warn local pet owners and landowners in advance about the event.

What I love about Terrington is that everyone knows each other, all the teachers are kind and fun, and we all have so many opportunities in different areas like sport, music, drama, art and trips. (Year 7 pupil)
