Inspirational visit from Old Terringtonian Imo Boddy
We were delighted to welcome back Old Terringtonian Imo Boddy ahead of her attempt to become the youngest person to run from John O’Groats to Lands End.
Imo, 22, who was at Terrington Hall between 2001 and 2011, will set off from the northern tip of mainland Scotland on Sunday June 19th. She aims to run the length of the UK (1,500 km) at a rate of 60 km per day, finishing at Lands End on 10th July.
She told our assembly how she set herself the world record-breaking challenge after realising running was her passion and that she thrived on digging deep to improve her performance. She is also fundraising for Young Minds, our school charity for this year.
The children were fascinated by the enormity of Imo’s challenge and asked many questions about her run and how she would stay motivated. Imo then led a warm-up session with Year 6 and joined them – plus Mr Kibler and Mr Keens – for a cross country run.
