Lizzie joins Opera North’s junior performers
We’re delighted that Year 3 pupil Lizzie has become one of the youngest members of Opera North’s Children’s Chorus, the junior performing wing of the national opera company.
Lizzie [pictured above, centre] joins her sister Lottie, Year 6 [left], in the group, which offers young people aged 8-11 vocal and stagecraft training as part of a year-long programme of performances and projects.
Year 7 pupil Monty [right] is also part of the Leeds-based Opera North company, after auditioning successfully for the Young Voices group, for 11-15 year-olds.
The choirs meet weekly during school term time to take part in a year-long programme of performances and projects, trained by vocal and drama specialists.
Alongside their own performances, the Youth Choirs regularly perform with the Orchestra and Chorus of Opera North, and in main stage productions throughout the year.
Niki Dance, Director of Performing Arts at Terrington Hall School, said: “Lizzie is a very talented singer, as are Lottie and Monty, and it’s great to see them following their passions. We applaud their dedication to developing their performance skills further, and look forward to seeing them on stage with the Opera North company.”
Hard to find fault with this thoroughly wholesome co-ed Prep school in a dreamy rural setting, with a family vibe and great results.
