Inaugural Alumni Day a huge success
We were delighted to welcome former pupils and members of staff to the inaugural Terrington Hall Alumni Day, marking the school’s centenary.
More than 60 Old Terringtonians and their families joined us to reminisce, look at old school photographs, watch current pupils’ cricket matches against Bootham School and Ampleforth College, and tour their former classrooms and dormitories.
Those who attended had memories of the Terrington Hall reaching back over many years, and spent the afternoon enthusiastically catching up with former colleagues, teachers and classmates. The day ended with a surf n turf barbecue on the front lawn, accompanied by guitarist Owen Houlston, a peripatetic teacher at the school.
Fond memories and anecdotes
Headmaster Simon Kibler said: “We’re thrilled by the enthusiastic response of Old Terringtonians to our first Alumni Day. It was pleasure to listen to their fond memories and anecdotes and to share in their delight at returning to Terrington Hall.
“There was an overwhelming demand – both from those who attended and others who couldn’t make it this time – for us to hold another reunion and I’m pleased to say that plans are already afoot to hold more events during the next school year.”

We are also establishing an Old Terringtonian Committee to help spread the word about alumni events and contribute ideas. If you are interested, please email Claire Wainwright at: office@terringtonhall.com
The visit brought back so many fond memories it was almost like being a pupil again.
