Oundle Scholarships for Jessica and Ava

Congratulations to Year 8 pupils Jessica and Ava, who have both been awarded coveted all-rounder scholarships to Oundle School.

The scholarships are awarded in recognition of proven talent and exceptional potential, and are presented to candidates with a genuine interest and ability in two or more disciplines.

Jessica [pictured, left] and Ava [right] were tested over two days at Oundle and impressed in areas including presentation, interview, drama, teamwork and sport.

Headmaster Huw Thomas said: “Jessica and Ava have done brilliantly to secure Oundle Scholarships against stiff opposition from candidates across the country. Both are fine examples of our school values of Confidence, Courage, Kindness and Growth and I’m sure they will continue to make us proud in their contributions to life at Oundle School.”

Both Jessica and Ava are tremendous role models for younger children at Terrington Hall. Jessica is Prefect for Sport and captain of the hockey team. She is a very talented musician who plays the piano and oboe. Ava is one of our Heads of School and took a lead role in Upper Prep’s recent production of The Lion King. She is a talented sportswoman and captain of the netball team.

Oundle School, a prestigious co-educational boarding school near Peterborough, says it awards scholarships to pupils with “a real energy and zest for School life”. It looks to its scholars to provide intellectual and cultural leadership to their peers and in return, offers dedicated programmes of opportunity and support to help them make the most of their talents.

“

It’s a friendly and well-run school with the right blend of education and the creation of the well-rounded individual.
