Pre-Prep celebrate the joy of sport
Fun, sun, Confidence and Courage marked Pre-Prep Sports Day on the Terrington Hall sports fields.
Our other value – Kindness – was on display, too, as children cheered and supported each other through a carousel of sporting challenges.
Families watched and applauded from the grassy banks as children from Pre-School to Year 2 showed their determination, skill and resilience in various activities.
Practice sessions paid off as they confidently tried their best in the long jump, egg & spoon race, ball throwing events, distance running, sprints – and the ever-popular sack race.
Teamwork played a huge part, too, as everyone earned points for their Houses Moor, Forest and Castle. Children shared tips and encouraged each other throughout, and the field buzzed with positive energy.
Each year group was supported brilliantly by Year 6 pupils as they moved around the sports field. Thank you to them, and to all the families who cheered and applauded every child in such good spirit.
Mums and Dads also had their moment in the spotlight as they competed in the parents’ races. Friendly banter and rivalry made each sprint a thrilling spectacle – with the children cheering themselves hoarse as they urged the adults on.
The school has a smart mix of sport for all but stretch for those who want to achieve.
