School community joins the charity fun run
The whole school community joined our annual charity fun run, which this year was combined with a celebration of our merger with the Sedbergh Schools Group.
Parents, grandparents and family dogs sprinted, jogged and strolled the course, which wended its way across the school fields and Howardian Hills on a beautifully sunny afternoon.
We were raising funds for this year’s charity, the Nayamba School in rural Zambia, which educates children from pre-school through to age 18 who otherwise could not go to school due to distance and expense.
Every child, from age 3 -13, took the course at their own pace. Woody and George were first past the finishing line with Mr Neill, having maintained a cracking speed throughout. Others chatted and enjoyed the stunning views as they took a more leisurely approach.
Then it was through the finishing ‘line’ of a celebratory arch, and time to tuck into a pulled pork and salad feast laid on by our wonderful catering team, with cupcakes to finish.
We were joined at the event by Dan Harrison, Executive Head of the Sedbergh Schools Group, David Milner, Director of Marketing and International Relations at Sedbergh School, and Old Terringtonian Ben Collins, now Sedbergh School’s Alumni Director. They all enjoyed the opportunity to meet more of our parents as everyone mingled on the front lawn.
The event raised hundreds of pounds for the Nayamba School. Thank you to everyone who took part and donated to this worthy cause.
It’s a happy and friendly prep school in beautiful coutryside.
