Sports Scholarship for Year 8 pupil Will

Congratulations to Year 8 pupil Will, who has been offered a Sport Scholarship by Sedbergh School after scoring top grades in rigorous assessments.

Will’s passion for sport – especially Rugby – and his academic studies shone through during the Sedbergh assessments, which included both interviews and sport.

Will is a lynchpin of our sporting teams and is Prefect with responsibility for Sport.

He also plays for York Acorn Rugby League Club, where his U12 team are both league and cup winners, and York RUFC, where his U12 team is also unbeaten. He is a talented cross country runner, athlete and has represented York and District at cricket.

Simon Kibler, Headmaster, said: “Will is a fine young man who is excelling in Year 8: in the classroom, on the sports fields, as a talented drummer and as Prefect with special responsibility for Sport. He has huge potential and we are very proud that Sedbergh has awarded him this scholarship. Well done, Will!”

As a satisfied parent says: ‘One minute they could be part of the rugby scrum, and the next minute on the stage singing a solo.’
