Sun and fun at the Pre-Prep Sports Day
Pre-Prep children ran, threw and jumped their way to success in a sun-filled Sports Day cheered on by their families.
Youngsters from Pre-School to Year 2 worked together and encouraged each other across every activity, delighting in each other’s achievements.
Watched by their families on the grassy banks overlooking the athletics field, children from Moor, Castle and Forest Houses vied for coveted stickers and medals.
They were thrilled to be able to stand on the podium, basking in the triumph of having done their very best and risen to the sporting challenge.
Whether it was the sack race, sprint, the long jump, relay or egg and spoon race, every competitor displayed the Terrington values of Confidence, Courage and Growth.
Our most important value – Kindness – was also there in abundance as children cheered themselves hoarse until the very last competitor crossed the line.
The children were supported superbly by Year 8 pupils, who marshalled and encouraged competitors with calm, friendly authority throughout. They also ran alongside the younger children, shouting encouragement all the way.
Wonderful parents’ group the Friends of Terrington Hall served welcome refreshments to help cool onlooking families in the heat, and our catering team also laid on delicious snacks.
The soaring temperatures didn’t deter our mums and dads from taking to the arena for the hotly-contested parents’ races, cheered on loudly by their proud children.
Well done to everyone who took part in this wonderful celebration of sport – and the progress every child has made in track and field activities this year.

It’s a fabulous school which my child is always happy to go to each morning.
