Year 5 rise to cycling challenge
Year 5 honed their cycling skills with a fun all-day training session led by visiting expert Phil Bateman from ProRide coaching.
There was an incredible improvement in cycling confidence in general throughout the day, as they progressed from initial wobbles around the playground to cycling confidently over ramps and under arches.
After learning how to cycle safely on the road, children ended the Bikeability level 2 ‘course’ by cycling round Terrington village. The thrilling excursion ended with a real sense of achievement and did much to enhance our school aims of expanding children’s horizons.
The day boosted Year 5’s confidence, courage and growth – as well as our fourth school value, kindness, which was much on display as children encouraged and supported each other
