On a glorious Thursday afternoon the U8 girls excitedly travelled to Aysgarth to play their first netball match of the season, a full 7 a-side game! After a very positive warm up and re-cap of the position the girls were keen to get going.

The whilstle went and the girls all started with gusto. Mollie and Olivia working well as a pair to pass the ball down the court and up to Flora and Roma who were waiting in the D. Both girls had many super attempts and then...Roma managed to get a fantastic shot in just as the whistle blew, so the quarter ended and we were up 1 goal to 0. In the second quarter the girls worked well to defend as Aysgarth held onto much of the ball, but despite some super marking by Daisy and Aurehlia Aysgarth managed to pop a goal in, half time arrived and it was evens with everything to play for.

After a quick turn around and with the focus of 'Peter Pan' (staying as close to your opponent as possible) we were off. Rosie worked hard in the centre and fed the ball brilliantly up to Tilly and Jana and despite rattiling the rim of the net we just weren't able to convert our shots. The third quarter ended with the score still 1 all. In the final quarter all the girls played superbly with Jana, Mollie and Flora making some good passes up to the shooting end but once again we couldn't quite convert our attempt, something with Aysgarth managed to just within the last 30 seconds and with that the game was over.

The entire match from start to finish was played with enthusiasum, with all girls getting the opportunity to play in the much desired GA and GS positions. Each member of the team represented the school in the best manner possible and as their teacher it was a delight to see them all play.
