Wednesday 8th November saw the whole U11 squad travel up to Aysgarth for rugby. We made a slow start, failing to clear our lines from the kick-off and allowing Aysgarth to break down the right to score in just the first minute. This pattern followed for the rest of the half with the Terrington boys losing out at the rucks and being forced to back pedal against a strong Aysgarth attack. Towards the end of the half, however, we managed to begin to put some attacks together and eventually touched down following a super run from Alfred Stevenson.
The second half was much more even with another try from Alfred and Nathan Humphrey bulldozing over following good breaks by Joe Cade, Tom Ellerker and Bart Harrison.
Although the score reflected the fact that our opposition were much stronger, there was much to be positive about from the Terrington performance. Ted Kellock showed good defensive work, Bart was strong when running with the ball as was George Gunn. With a little more urgency at ruck time and a better organised defensive line, this team could well become a force to be reckoned with over the remainder of the term.
Well done to all of the boys, it was a pleasure to take you away.
