On a wet and cold Tuesday, the U8 girls travelled across to Richmond House to play netball. The match would be five a-side with 5 minute quarters and in the cold wet conditions it would truly test their grit and determination.

The match from start to finish was wonderful and despite the rain the girls kept up their efforts and smiles to the very end. Emily T, Thea and Lily all proved themselves to be good in the centre with enthusiastic dodges and passes being made to their team mates. Sophia and Connie gave some expert attempts at goals and you cannot knock their enthusiasm for the position, though Annabel, scoring 3 and Darcie, scoring 2 seem to have developed the accuracy needed. Down in the defensive end Lily and Emily R, marked tightly and proved themselves to be a formidable defence, letting very few balls into the D.

Personally, as their tutor this match was such a positive experience for all the girls and it was a real pleasure to be able to coach them through it. However, a special mention much go to Darcie, who despite feeling unsure at the start gave it her all and even left the court with a super spring in her step! I am now looking forward to the next one which I can go to. Well Done all.
