The Pre-Prep Co-curriculum

Laying the right foundations

Many of the habits and behaviours that your child learns in our Pre-Prep will stay with them for life. During these crucial first years of school, they will lay the foundations of many of the key social skills they will rely on to make their way confidently in the world.

Positive social development

Often, this kind of learning takes place alongside our curriculum teaching. It might be learning the value of sharing, taking turns or playing fairly. Or it could be helping your child understand how to better resolve conflicts, negotiate resolutions or talk constructively about what they need and want.

Learning that is firmly rooted in our values

The Terrington Hall values of Confidence, Kindness, Growth and Courage are promoted in every aspect of learning and through play.

From the Early Years Foundation Stage and onwards through Key Stage 1, your child will benefit from our thorough and consistent approach to supporting their social development. Right from the start, teachers set expectations around social behaviour. And they support every child to meet these expectations with praise and encouragement.

Learning all-important life skills

We encourage all of our pupils to ‘have a go’ and broaden their horizons through a range of enriching activities, including important life skills such as baking, caring for the environment, or in gardening and outdoor survival skills in our forest school sessions.

In everything we do, we work together to broaden horizons and promote mutual respect and tolerance for all cultures.

Has a real family feel where children can truly be children and where they become happy, successful and ready for the challenges of their senior school.
